Video – Solat in Space – Part 2 There are times when I couldn’t perform Solat the usual way since the bigger module was busy with other astronauts doing their work . I would then Solat in the smaller module where the Soyuz is docked … Islam never burden the Ummah . If you can’t perform Solat standing , you can do them sitting down , moving your neck or even just your eyes as long as your Nawaitu is there . That’s what I did . Solat sitting down strapping my body so that I don’t float around … Just sharing how Solat is done in space . Good Night Everyone … Love As Always … PS – The best thing about ISS – it doesn’t matter what religion or nation you are , everyone respects each other for who you are . Alhamdulillah …. Video – Solat in space . I was the 9th Muslim who has been to space and decided with Jakim to come out with a fatwa on how prayers are to be done in space for future Muslim astronauts . The obstacle is that every 45 minutes the sun rises and sets as the ISS orbits the Earth 16 times a day . So how do we pray in space ? 1. Solat time is based on Kazakhstan prayer time since I was launched from Baikonaur . Hence the reason I wear 3 watches in space . 2. Wuduq – water is limited so Tayammum is the best way . 3. Qibla direction is the Earth itself 4. Strap your feet or body so that you don’t float around . In the video – you couldn’t see my feet which was actually strapped . As a Muslim it’s important to pray no matter where you are … whether on Earth or Space . Salam Jumaat Everyone … PS – I’m in the midst of changing the fatwa that we should follow Mecca time for Solat prayers in space – since 2 Muslim astronauts who were launched from 2 different location would be praying at different times which doesn’t make sense . Just need to convince the Islamic Scholars all over the world and Jakim too . PSS – Hoping that there will be more Muslims in space soon . Amiinn … For more videos do subscribe to my YouTube Channel or click the link on my bio or on Instastory . 😀
