After receiving the New Zealand National Scarf Day poster from my mother and a few other friends, I wondered why we here in Australia and globally were not doing the same. Initially I didn't know how I would feel if a Non-Muslim wore a scarf to show their solidarity but the more I think about it, the more I know and understand how much the Muslim community needs it. We have had our narratives bashed so hard for a long time and now seeing the outpour of love and support, it truly is so heartwarming and nice to know we are not alone. After being contacted by my dear friend Reem, she shared with me her friend Raquel's sentiment to bringing this to Australia. I've decided to use my platform, the Wonder Women Project to make National Scarf Day an International Movement in the wake of the Christchurch attacks on Friday 15th March 2019. Show your solidarity to all Muslims in Australia and globally that you stand united with them by wearing a scarf for the day. Take a photo and set it as your profile picture to show we do not bow to terror. Love and Light always. 💕 Mastura.
